
3 days trip from Marrakech to Merzouga
OVERVIEW :
This three-day journey begins with a drive from Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains, stopping at the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, followed by a visit to Ouarzazate and the Valley of Roses. Day two takes you through the dramatic Todra Gorge and into the Sahara Desert at Merzouga, where you’ll experience a camel trek and a night in a traditional nomadic camp. The final day includes a visit to the ancient city of Rissani, passing through the Draa Valley and Berber villages, before returning to Marrakech.

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate – Rose Valley – Dades Gorges
Departure from your hotel or riad at 8:00 AM, heading towards the High Atlas Mountains. You will cross the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass to reach the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, where you will have a guided visit (lunch in Ait Ben Haddou). Afterward, the journey continues towards the desert of Merzouga via the road to Ouarzazate, with a visit to the Taourirt Kasbah.
We will then head towards Skoura and the Thousand Kasbahs, crossing Kalaa M’Gouna, the city of roses, and through the Rose Valley. The day concludes at the Dades Valley with a visit to Ait Youl Kasbah, then dinner and an overnight stay in Dades Gorges.
Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorge – Touroug – Erfoud – Merzouga
After breakfast, the day starts with a visit to the Todra Gorge, then we continue towards Erfoud through the Tinghir Palms and reach Touroug, where you’ll stop for lunch. Afterward, the journey resumes towards Erfoud with a stop to visit a fossil workshop. From there, we’ll continue off-road to the Erg Chebbi Dunes in Merzouga, where you will switch from 4×4 vehicles to camels to cross the dunes and spend the night in the desert. Dinner and overnight in a traditional nomadic camp.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Tazarine – Draa Valley – Agdz – Marrakech
Early morning wake-up to watch the sunrise over the desert dunes, followed by a camel ride back to the hostel. After breakfast, we’ll depart towards Rissani (the historical capital of the Alawite Sultans), and then continue towards Alnif, Tazarine Oasis, and Kob, stopping for lunch. The journey continues through the Draa Valley, the Berber village of Agdz, and over the Ait Saoune Pass at 1,660 meters.
We’ll then proceed towards Marrakech, passing through Berber villages in the High Atlas Mountains, arriving in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
