itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Ouarzazate
Arrive in Ouarzazate, often called the “Gateway to the Desert.” After settling in, you’ll have free time to explore the town, known for its film studios and impressive Kasbahs. Overnight stay in Ouarzazate.
Day 2: Ouarzazate – Dades – Todgha Gorges
Depart from Ouarzazate and head towards the Dades Valley, following the “Route of 1,000 Kasbahs.” Continue to the Todgha Gorges, where you’ll walk through dramatic canyon walls. Overnight stay near the gorges.
Day 3: Todgha – Merzouga Dunes
Journey to Merzouga, where you’ll reach the golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. In the evening, enjoy a camel trek into the dunes, where you’ll spend the night in a traditional Berber camp under the stars.
Day 4: Merzouga
Spend the day exploring the desert around Merzouga. Options include visiting local nomadic villages, taking a 4×4 tour, or enjoying a relaxing day in the serene desert landscape. Overnight stay in Merzouga.
Day 5: Merzouga – Zagora
Leave Merzouga and head toward Zagora, another key town on the edge of the Sahara Desert. Along the way, you’ll pass through desert landscapes and small Berber villages. Overnight stay in Zagora.
Day 6: Zagora – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Depart Zagora and visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. After exploring the ancient kasbah, continue your journey through the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech, where you’ll stay overnight.
Day 7: Marrakech City Tour
Enjoy a guided tour of Marrakech, including iconic landmarks like the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, and the bustling Medina. Explore the famous Jemaa el-Fna square in the evening.
Day 8: Departure from Marrakech
Transfer to Marrakech airport for your departure, marking the end of your 8-day adventure.
