itinerary
DAY 01: Casablanca (Arrival)
Your guide-driver will meet you at your arrival gate and take you immediately to your hotel. It’s about a 40-minute drive to the hotel in the modern city. Depending on your arrival time, it is possible to make the first visits.
Casablanca is home to more than three million inhabitants, making it the largest Moroccan city—a surprising feat considering that 100 years ago, it housed no more than 25,000 people. The city’s contrast between powerful streets and skyscrapers on one side and typical oriental architecture on the other creates a fascinating atmosphere. The biggest attraction in Casablanca is the Hassan II Mosque, which you will visit the next day.
DAY 02: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes
After breakfast, you will visit the highlights of Morocco’s metropolis, including the waterfront, the Hassan II Mosque, the quaint Quartier Habbous, and Place Mohamed V. Afterward, you’ll drive about 90 km to the capital, Rabat, where after lunch, you will visit the Royal Palace (outside), the government district, the famous Hassan Tower (a city landmark), the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Tombs of the Merinides Sultans. The journey continues through a major agricultural region to King City Meknes, known for its 40 km long city wall with magnificent gates. Overnight in an authentic Riad.
DAY 03: Meknes – Volubilis – Fez
Today is a journey through time! You’ll visit the Jewish Quarter and the royal town of Meknes, where you’ll explore the remains of a huge granary from the 17th century and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. On a walk through the Old Town, you’ll visit El Hedim Square and the famous Bab Mansour Gate.
The first stop will be at the ancient Roman city of Volubilis, a well-preserved city showcasing Roman urbanism, with its Cardo and Decumanus streets. Next, you will visit the venerated citadel of Moulay Idris, founded in the 8th century by Moulay Idris Al Akbar, the grandson of Prophet Mohamed (s.a.w.s).
Finally, you will reach Fez, arriving in the evening. After a brief introduction to Fez, dinner will be served at your Riad.
DAY 04: Fez (Visit)
Undeniably fascinating, Fez stimulates the senses with its haunting yet beautiful sounds, visual splendor, and evocative smells. Fez is the most ancient of the imperial capitals and the most complete medieval city in the Islamic world.
Your morning will be spent visiting the Medina. You’ll start at the King’s Palace, visit the Jewish Quarter with its Moorish maze architecture, and explore Sephardic synagogues and the mausoleums of holy Rabbis. After a day of exploring, you’ll return to your hotel for dinner.
DAY 05: Fez – Midelt
Today, you will leave Fez and head south through the “Switzerland of Morocco”—Ifrane—and the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas. After passing through the scenic Ziz Valley, you’ll arrive at Midelt, nestled between the Middle Atlas and High Atlas. In the afternoon, enjoy a small hike in the mountains (optional) and spend the night in a traditional Kasbah.
DAY 06: Midelt – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga
After breakfast, drive through the Gorges du Ziz, a canyon with oases and date palms, arriving at the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. A short visit to Rissani (former capital of Tafilalt) is followed by a camel ride into the depths of the Sahara to enjoy a sunset atop the dunes. Overnight in a typical desert nomad tent.
DAY 07: Merzouga – Erfoud – Tinghir
Wake up early to witness the magical desert sunrise. After breakfast, return by camel to the hotel Kasbah. Visit a local marble factory in Erfoud before heading to Tineghir, where the Todra Valley begins. You will spend the night in a hotel near the Todra Gorge.
DAY 08: Tinghir – Boumalne Dades – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou
You will travel west through the Todra Gorges, Dades Valley, and the Road of 1000 Kasbahs, passing through Skoura and arriving in Ouarzazate—Morocco’s Hollywood. Visit the Kasbah of Taourirt and continue to Ait Ben Haddou, where you will spend the night in a Kasbah.
DAY 09: Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Journey through the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, the highest in Morocco. You will arrive in Marrakech, a city alive with local markets and vibrant culture. Visit Jemaa El Fna Square and enjoy dinner at your hotel.
DAY 10: Marrakech (Visit)
Spend your morning exploring the Menara Gardens, the Koutoubia Minaret, the Saadien Tombs, and the Agdal Gardens. Visit the Majorelle Gardens in the afternoon. Return to your hotel for dinner.
